MBS Values
The provision of housing and healthcare at Menno Place is based on "trust in God" and "devotion to good works" (Titus 3:8). Our hope is that the lives of residents, family members, staff, volunteers and visitors will be enriched and transformed as these values are lived out.
Respect - honouring all who live, work or visit at Menno Place. Recognizing that all are created in God's image, regardless of age, ethnic or religious background, ability or disability, we seek to honour their dignity and choices in the context of Christian ethics and servant leadership.
Kindness - expressing God's care. Understanding that "love is kind" (1 Corinthians 13), we seek to create an atmosphere that is welcoming, and to treat one another with consideration and appreciation.
Excellence - always learning, always improving. This finds expression in our stewardship, adoption of best practices, continual learning and quality improvement, personal growth for staff and residents, and a commitment to care for the whole person--addressing physical, emotional, intellectual, social and spiritual dimensions.
Community - growing and builidng together. In the midst of our diversity, community is built on trust, integrity, justice, mutuality, teamwork and good governance.
Faith and Service - living out our Christian values. As Menno Simons summed up the teaching of Jesus, "True evangelical faith cannot be dormant: It clothes the naked, it feeds the hungry, it comforts the sorrowful, it shelters the destitute, it serves those that harm it, it binds up that which is wounded, it has become all things to all people."
