Trisha Giesbrecht – Manager of Care and Quality Improvement

Trisha is the Manager of Care for Menno Hospital and our Quality Improvement Lead.
We wanted to get to know her, so we sat down for a Q+A…

Q: What sort of training did you receive that helps you in your role at Menno Place?

A: Other than the school of life… I am just finishing up my degree at TWU. I would say some of the best training I use in this role was my training for a half marathon with the Running room. I draw on those key principles to keep moving forward, despite the obstacles you are facing. The hill reveals how strong you actually are, you can do more than you think you can, and endurance is the goal, not speed.

Q: What is your favourite family recipe?

A: Gluten free waffles with home made jam.

Q: What is the most important lesson you’ve learned in the last year?

A: Taking care of myself is critical to my ability to take care of others!
I love the saying, “you cannot pour from an empty cup”. (anonymous)

Q: What do you listen to in the car?

A: I love to listen to music with positive and uplifting messages.

Q: How do you recharge?

A: I run or walk my dogs. Usually, it is just me and my Spotify playlist of upbeat happy songs.

Q: What’s the last book you read?

A: I am just finishing Breaking Busy, How to Find Peace and Purpose in a Crazy World, by Alli Worthington.
