Taking Steps to Move to Menno Place

  • 1. LEARN

First, you need to know what level of care you require. There are four levels of care for seniors:

    1. Independent Living – you are living on your own without risk to yourself or others
    2. Independent Living with Fraser Health Home Support Services – you are living on your own receiving support with personal hygiene or shower assistance or medications or special medical needs, such as compression stockings.
    3. Assisted Living – privately paid or subsidized through Fraser Health – you are receiving help with personal hygiene, medications, meals, transport to and fron activities or nursing care.
    4. Residential Care – You are living in a nursing home with 24/7 nurse availability. You are receiving help as you live with dementia and/or physical limitations that require transferring you to and from bed, bath, chair or wheechair.

  • 3. QUALIFY WITH ASSESSMENT

To qualify for nursing care support, you’ll need an assessment of what kind of support you require.

For private pay Assisted Living, you will come to Terrace East to meet with our nursing care team to talk about your care needs.

For subsidized Assisted Living or Residential Care, you will request an assessment from Fraser Health by calling 1.855.412.2121
