The Difference is YOU!
This season, your gift can go twice as far. Every dollar will be matched, up to $29,000, until December 31, 2026. Your support helps us purchase new equipment, fund dementia care training, and honour our caregivers.

MEDICAL EQUIPMENT
There’s a resident on our campus who feels the cold more than most, and a caregiver who knows it, and reaches for a warm blanket instead of a cold one. Your gift toward our $62,000 goal adds 5 more warming cabinets across campus.
MEDICAL EQUIPMENT
There’s a moment, several times a day, when a resident has to trust someone else with their body, to get from bed to chair, to the bathroom, wherever the day takes them next. Your gift toward our $16,000 goal adds more transfer aide lifts to care for residents and the caregivers who support them.
MEDICAL EQUIPMENT
A lift only works as well as the sling attached to it, and the right sling is the difference between a resident feeling secure or feeling unsteady. Your gift toward our $25,000 goal makes sure every lift on campus is matched with slings that fit.

Thanks to generous donors and local businesses, every gift will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $29,000, now through December 31, 2026.
A $50 gift becomes $100.
A $100 gift becomes $200.
A $500 gift becomes $1,000.

STAFF APPRECIATION
“How can I ever thank you for what you do for my loved one?” It’s a question our staff hear often and rarely know how to answer. Your gift toward our $15,000 goal helps us answer it for them.
DEMENTIA JOURNEY
When a resident living with dementia becomes agitated or afraid, a caregiver trained to recognize what’s underneath it can respond with patience instead of guesswork. Your gift toward our $20,050 goal brings Dementia Journey training to our team, including hands-on kits, two staff certified as in-house trainers, and 3 years of program licensing.
GREATEST NEED
Some needs can’t be predicted months in advance: a piece of equipment that wears out sooner than expected, staff or residents who need something specific that no one saw coming. Your gift to our greatest needs fund lets us respond right away, wherever the need is greatest, without waiting for a line item to catch up.
A steady lift from bed to chair. A warm blanket instead of a cold one. A caregiver who has the training to respond with patience instead of guesswork. None of it happens on its own. These moments start with someone who chooses to give, and this season, that difference can be you.
On eleven acres in Abbotsford, 700 seniors call Menno Place home. Some arrived last month. Some have been here for years. All of them deserve care that feels like family.
“When we invest in compassionate care, equipment and skills that keep seniors safe and comfortable, we are demonstrating what it truly means to truly love our neighbours and value every person in every stage of life.”
Gary Schellenberg
Family Member, MBS Board Member, Donor, Friend of Menno Place
“I get to walk through our halls and see what generosity like yours makes possible: residents settled into rooms that feel like home, chaplains with time to sit and listen, caregivers equipped to do their best work. That’s what this year’s fundraising goal means to me. It’s not a number. It’s 700 seniors who get to feel cared for, today and every day after.”
Sujata Connors, CEO
“The chaplains exuded such a caring spirit and it made my heart so thankful that our dad was able to be a part of this community for the last 5+ years of his life.”

Can I designate my gift to a specific area?
Yes. When donating online, you can choose from our approved Impact Areas using the “Donate To” dropdown in the giving form. Each option reflects a specific area of care or programming at Menno Place. Gifts are subject to MBS Board donation policy — see the full notice at the bottom of this page.
What if I want to make a larger gift or include Menno Place in my estate plans?
We’d love to talk with you about that. Planned gifts and major gifts make a lasting difference to the seniors in our care. Please email our Advancement team or phone 604.851.3102 — we’d be honoured to help you find the right fit.
Will I receive a tax receipt?
Yes. Donations of $20 or more are eligible for an official charitable tax receipt, issued by the Mennonite Benevolent Society, a registered Canadian charity. Your receipt will be emailed to the address you provide at checkout.
What are my options for giving offline?
If you prefer to give by cheque or through a paper form, you can download our donation form and mail it to us at Menno Place, 32945 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, BC V2S 1K1. You can also email our Advancement team or phone 604.851.3102.

Receipt of and spending of donations is confined to Board approved programs and projects. If, in the opinion of MBS, it should become no longer practical or possible to use this gift for a purpose specified or restricted by the donor (for example, if the program to which it relates is restructured, oversubscribed, or discontinued), MBS will redirect the gift to another purpose where it is most needed, as determined by Board in its discretion.
