Together, we can enhance the dignity, comfort, and safety of residents and staff at Menno Place. The Arjo Maxi Move 5 is a multifunctional patient floor lift that enables safe, ergonomic transfers and helps protect caregivers from injury.

This #GivingTuesday, Menno Place is seeking to purchase three lifts valued at $12,400 each — a total of $37,200.

Early gifts will be matched dollar-for-dollar by our generous partners until matching funds run out. Let’s rise to the challenge, together.

What is donation-matching and how does it work?
Generous donors and business partners have designated $3000 to match #GivingTuesday donations to Menno Place. Every dollar you give will be matched until these funds run out, doubling the impact of your donation. Our partners commit to this donation-matching program to encourage and challenge others to make a meaningful difference for seniors in long-term care.
What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday is an annual global day of generosity that takes place on the first Tuesday after American Thanksgiving. It was created in response to the the consumer-driven days of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, shifting the focus to generosity and charitable giving. Even though Giving Tuesday is on December 2nd this year, we receive donations towards this special initiative for an entire month to give our Menno Place community an opportunity to be a part of this special challenge.
Is there a deadline for #GivingTuesday donations?
You can make your #GivingTuesday donation to Menno Place between Nov, 5 and Dec 6, 2025. Regular donations to our general fund can be received HERE at any time, however, they are not eligible for this special matching initiative.
What happens if #GivingTuesday donations exceed the match amount?
Matching funds are only available for a limited time, which is why we encourage our donors to make their gift as soon as possible! Any donations above the match amount will still go towards the purchase of the Maxi Move 5 lift.
What happens if the total fundraising goal is not reached by Dec 6th?
Menno Place is committed to the purchase of a new Maxi Move 5 Lift for seniors in long-term care. If our goal of $12,400 is not reached at this time, we will seek additional funds to ensure our residents receive this new equipment.
Will I receive a tax receipt for my #GivingTuesday donation?
Yes, donations of $20 and over are eligible for a tax receipt.
Can I claim a tax deduction for the matched portion of my donation?
No, you will only receive a tax receipt for the amount of your initial contribution.

Receipt of and spending of donations is confined to Board approved programs and projects. Each contribution directed toward an approved program or project will be used as restricted with the understanding that when the need for such a program or project has been met, or cannot be completed for any reason, the remaining restricted contributions will be used where needed most, as determined by the Board.
