Taking Steps to Move to Menno Place

  • 1. LEARN

First, you need to know what level of care you require. There are five levels of care for seniors:

    1. Independent Living – You are living on your own without risk to yourself or others and do not require care at this time.
    2. Independent Living with Fraser Health Home Support Services – You are living on your own receiving support with personal hygiene or shower assistance or medications or special medical needs, such as compression stockings.
    3. Assisted Living (Privately paid) – You are receiving help with personal hygiene, medications, meals, transport to and from activities or nursing care.
    4. Assisted Living (Subsidized through Fraser Health) – You are receiving help with personal hygiene, medications, meals, transport to and from activities or nursing care.
    5. Long Term Care – You are living in a nursing home with 24/7 nurse availability. You are receiving help as you live with dementia and/or physical limitations that require help transferring you to and from bed, bath, chair or wheelchair.
