CPSY 616 – IMMERSION EXPERIENCE

TWU CPSY 616 and MENNO PLACE – 2023 

Menno Place is partnering with Trinity Western University in the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology degree. We are providing Martin Bartel’s students in the CPSY 616 course – Family Systems (Community) the opportunity to experience an Immersion Exercise with elderly seniors. The visit will be a component in satisfying this course. 

Course Objective:
To develop a personalized understanding of aging populations and relevant challenges this population faces through experiential learning. 

FAQ’S – IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Immersion Exercise: As a student in the course you will each come two times to the Menno Place Campus to interview residents. You will be paired with a resident and will interview the same resident both times that you come to the campus.

Be early in order to find parking and sign-in. 

The dates that the students will come to Menno Place are as follows:

OCTOBER – FIRST MEETING 

  • Tuesday, October 3, 9:30am – 11:30am

  • Wednesday, October 4, 9:30am – 11:30am

  • Thursday, October 5, 9:30am – 11:30am

NOVEMBER – SECOND MEETING WITH THE SAME RESIDENT 

  • Tuesday, November 7, 9:30am – 11:30am

  • Wednesday, November 8, 9:30am – 11:30am

  • Thursday, November 9, 9:30am – 11:30am
